Choosing a USB-C laptop charger
USB-C describes the connector shape, not the power level. A phone charger may fit a laptop but still charge too slowly—or not at all while the laptop is in use.
Check the original wattage
Look at the rating printed on the original charger or the laptop manufacturer’s specification. Choose a USB-C Power Delivery plug that meets the required output.
Use a suitably rated cable
The cable must support the power you need. Higher-power USB-C charging may require a 100W or 240W rated cable with the correct electronic marking.
Allow for shared ports
On multi-port chargers, the advertised total can be divided when several devices are connected. Check the output available from the exact port combination you plan to use.
